What's On Your Radio?

I rarely post things just for fun, encouragement, and fellowship, and I think that's a problem. I also don't provide you with good opportunities to interact, besides the chance for some of you to express your disdain for me and some of you to take up arms by my side.

So, today, I want to tell you about a few of my favorite songs at present. Here goes:

Song of Hope
By: Robbie Seay Band

Stay Strong
By: Newsboys

You Are Everything
By: Matthew West

Let It Fade
By: Jeremy Camp

We Need Each Other
By: Sanctus Real

Washed by the Water
By: Needtobreathe

That's a good playlist to invigorate and inspire you to go out as a member of the body of Christ, to get up and dust yourself off, to come out stronger from your trials, to persevere, to leave your old life behind.

Tell me what you're listening to these days!!!!

p.s. To hear thirty-second snippets of these songs and/or to have the opportunity to download them for 94 cents a piece (plus state sales tax), you can visit Walmart Music Downloads.

Haven't heard "We Need Each Other", but the others are definitely some of the best songs I've heard on the radio lately.

I also like:

Glorious Day
By: Todd Agnew

Keeping Me Alive
By: The Afters

I had to chuckle when I read this post. :-) We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE music, and all we listen to is Christian. I'm familiar with all of those artists, but I didn't recognize "Let It Fade" and "We Need Each Other." It was great being able to hear snippets from Wal-mart's site. I didn't know they had that.

Stay Strong is currently our favorite song! In fact, that CD is in the player!

We don't have any albums by Needtobreathe, but they are at the top of my "soon to buy" list. For some reason I really like that guys voice, probably because it's so different.

Let's see...What are some current favorites...I don't care for country, but this one is wonderful: "That's Jesus" by Randy Travis. Some others: "How Deep The Father's Love" by Joy Williams; "Two Sets of Jones'" by Big Tent Revival; and "Blessed Be Your Name" by Newsboys. "In Christ Alone" is phenomenal.

Timely post! We aren't being nourished by a church at present, and it is really wonderful to communicate with others who love Jesus. This is the first blog I've found that really jives with me spiritually. I could see myself visiting it everyday (no pressure or anything). :-)

Lover of Truth,

I think you're right about Needtobreathe. You just don't hear that style of voice (or music, really) on Christian radio very often. You mentioned the group Big Tent Revival; well, that's kind of the feeling I get when I listen to that song--that of a tent revival. The music video is fun, too. The band is just standing out in the rain, rocking to the beat, and singing the song together.

"How Deep the Father's Love" and "In Christ Alone" are two of my top five favorite hymns. I don't how much you like Phillips, Craig, and Dean, but I think their renditions of those two songs are phenomenal. They do a medley of sorts with "In Christ Alone," focusing mainly on the "my hope is found" version while adding the "In Christ along I place my trust and find my glory in the power of the cross" chorus from the other "In Christ Alone." (Follow all that? :))

Speaking of "How Deep the Father's Love for Us," I'm reminded of "O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus" as performed by Selah. That's another one I would highly recommend.

It's funny, I almost forgot to mention "Stay Strong" because I downloaded it almost a month ago. But I think it has staying power on my favorites list.

EC,

I don't know how much "We Need Each Other" is being played on mainstream Christian music stations. It's not even that explicitly Christian. Some might call it a "Why can't we all just get along" kumbaya song, but I think it's a great rock anthem for the body of Christ and how God noted that it is not good for man to be alone, but He created us to work, live, and love together.

I'm going to go check out the 30 second snippets of those songs you and Lover of Truth mentioned. I don't think I've heard "Glorious Day" or "Keeping Me Alive."

While we're talking music, I'd like to throw out this link for the 4th:

http://chihulahualover.blogster.com/america_by_carman

Tell me if it doesn't send chills down your back. I watch/listen to it every 4th of July. I don't like most of Carman's songs, but this one is really powerful. It's the closest thing I've seen to a sermon in a song. The only negative thing about it is that it's outdated (mentions the 90s).

I should proably note that I'm not endorsing the blogger. I know nothing about her. I just like hearing the song someplace other than at YouTube.

Blessings and Happy 4th! :-)

Hey ajm,

Great to hear from you! I love "Mighty to Save," although, if Laura Story's version is the one they play on the radio here, I wish someone would come out with a more powerful cut (perhaps a strong male vocalist).

Besides "A Moment Like This," which I also like, I don't think I've heard the other ones you mentioned.

Hillsong sings "Mighty To Save" I found out, and they have a very strong male vocalist singing along with Darlene Zchesch (sp?) and some b/g vocals. I found it on Youtube, they did a really nice job.
