Another Letter to MCCL

If you can't tell, I really want Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life to endorse Mike Huckabee. This is my third letter to them. Their e-mail address is information@mccl.org.

Dear Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life,

I know that this is my third time writing to you in the past few days, but I can't stress enough the importance of this matter. In this primary and caucus season, we have the wonderful opportunity to nominate someone who is not only pro-life, but passionately so.

John McCain may have a pro-life voting record, but he has certainly not shown himself to be a zealous activist for the cause of life. Moreover, he does not support a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution, and he has been shaky on the issue of embryonic stem-cell research.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, has only declared himself to be pro-life in the past few years. Furthermore, he has stated that he doesn't think the country is ready to end abortion, demonstrating himself as unfit material for leadership of the pro-life movement. After all, who would fight for what they don't think is yet possible?

Both of these candidates seem to have taken the pro-life position as a token part of their platform. Mike Huckabee is the only one who has made it a prioritized concern. Having always been fully and fervently pro-life, he supports a Human Life Amendment, and opposes embryonic stem-cell research. He doesn't temper his position because of probability or practicality; he stands upon principle.

Earlier today, I heard a national news anchor refer to the Republican race as a "two-man race." The media will try to manipulate election coverage in such a way as to eliminate Huckabee's chances of ascertaining the nomination. That is why it is so important that you give your endorsement to Huckabee. The pundits will not prop him up like the others, but you, I, and countless others can show the country and the world what we think.

Huckabee is competing for first place in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and West Virginia. With the endorsement of Alaska Right to Life, he may even do well in that state, and he could have strong showings in several other states holding their primaries and caucuses on February 5th. With your endorsement, he has a shot at performing very well in Minnesota, as well. With the Republican party split between three viable candidates, just about anything can happen. But pro-lifers everywhere need to make their stand so that the best thing for the pro-life movement happens. If the best thing doesn't transpire, we can always vote for the next-best thing in November. Should we really be concerning ourselves with the lesser of two evils when a "greater good" is still available? I think not.

Time is running out for your endorsement to have the desired impact. Please endorse Mike Huckabee for President with all possible haste.

Thank you for your time.

...

p.s. Alabama Citizens for Life is expected to announce their endorsement of Mike Huckabee for President today. That will make them the eighth state to do so. Please become a part of the growing pro-life momentum for Huckabee. Become the ninth state!
