Dear Mitt Romney Supporters,

I had deep, serious, and irreconcilable concerns with Governor Romney which prevented me from supporting him. However, I believe that you sincerely felt that he was the best candidate and the strongest conservative. Therefore, I respectfully admonish you to now rally around Mike Huckabee!

Life:

Mitt Romney had promised to cultivate a "culture of life" as president. You supported him for that. Mike Huckabee has received the endorsements of Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, and Tennessee pro-life and right-to-life groups. Although the National Right to Life PAC did not officially endorse a specific candidate, it sent out a statement saying "that Governor Huckabee has taken the strongest pro-life position on all of the life issues of any of the remaining candidates for president."

Governor Huckabee has been a complete, consistent, passionate advocate of the pro-life cause. He is the only remaining candidate who supports a constitutional Human Life Amendment, and he passed pro-life legislation while governor of Arkansas.

Marriage:

Mitt Romney has said that he believes marriage is between one man and one woman. You supported him in that belief. Mike Huckabee has been a constant and fervent supporter of marriage. He is the only remaining candidate who supports a federal marriage amendment.

Second Amendment:

Mitt Romney vowed to defend your right to keep and bear arms. You supported that vow. Mike Huckabee has shown, by his words and actions, that he will adamantly and relentlessly protect your Second Amendment rights. The Gun Owners of America's analysis states that Huckabee "has proven himself to be a steadfast friend to gun owners and the Second Amendment."

Immigration:

Mitt Romney promised no amnesty and a secure border. You liked that promise. Huckabee has signed a "No Amnesty Pledge." He received the personal endorsement of Jim Gilchrist, the founder of the Minutemen, and he proposed a 9-Point Border Security Plan. He thinks the border can be secured within eighteen months.

Military/War:

Mitt Romney said that he supported a strong military, the surge in Iraq, and finishing the job in Iraq. You agreed with all those stands. Huckabee holds the same stands. He wants to build up the military; he supported the surge, although he didn't like where the extra soldiers came from; and he wants to finish the job.

Executive Experience:

You appreciated Mitt Romney's experience as both a governor and entrepreneur. Governor Huckabee also has executive experience. He was governor of Arkansas for over ten years, being named one of the top five governors in the country and voted by his colleagues to be the chairman of the National Governors' Association.

Taxes/Economy:

Mitt Romney supported lower taxes. So does Mike Huckabee. "Both Huckabee and Romney signed the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge. John McCain has not signed the pledge (atr.org)." (Link)

In fact, Huckabee wants to eliminate income and corporate taxes altogether through the revolutionary Fair Tax.

Mike Huckabee still has a legitimate shot at this nomination, regardless of what the (frequently wrong) pundits and McCain spin-doctors will try to convince you. He has a good shot in several states coming up, including Kansas, Louisiana, Washington, Virginia, Maryland, and Wisconsin. If he can win the majority of those, he will be propelled into the gargantuan contests of Ohio and Texas.

He could really use your support. Will you join the conservative left in this race?

Huckleberry doesn't have original ideas. He steals all of Ron Paul's ideas.

Don't make me laugh.

Huckleberry wants to change the constitution to fall more in line with Christian beliefs.

I'm sorry, but I'm voting for a President not a preacher.

Do you not believe in the separation of Church and State?

If so, how can you support Huckabee?

I can not support Mike Huckabee. He is not Christian in his deeds. His raises taxes in Arkansas in one problem but his corruption is even worse.

His administration destroyed government-owned hard drives as he left office in January 2007. Huckabee ordered his staff to electronically wipe and then crush the hard drives of almost 100 laptop and desktop computers in the governor's office.

Judicial Watch Announces List of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” for 2007

6. Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): Governor Huckabee enjoyed a meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more thorough review of his ethics record. According to The Associated Press: “[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office.” And what was Governor Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down.

All of Ron Paul's ideas, Adam?

Is a Human Life Amendment Ron Paul's idea? I don't think so.

Is a Marriage Amendment Ron Paul's idea? Absolutely not.

Is finishing the job in Iraq an idea of Paul? Don't make ME laugh.

Does Ron Paul have a monopoly on protecting the 2nd Amendment? I think not.

Has he trademarked the Fair Tax? Obviously not.

I'm sorry, Adam, but I don't see where you're getting your thesis from. Plus, it seems like you're more interested in making fun of a person's name than choosing a good president.

Anonymous, that comment was taken way out of context. As he said, he's not going to introduce Sunday school requirements. That statement was meant in the context of the Marriage Amendment and the Human Life Amendment. Amending the constitution is constitutional.

I, too, am voting for a President. That's why it's great that Huckabee was governor for longer than any other presidential candidate.

I do want my President, however, to base his beliefs on something deeper than the whim of the moment or his own reason. In fact, the Human Life Amendment is based in the Declaration of Independence's proclamation that we are all created equal and endowed by our CREATOR with certain inalienable rights.

Do I believe in the Separation of Church and State? It all depends on what you mean by that statement. I think the concept has been severely corrupted in our modern age.

Cleaner,

It's amazing that someone named one of the Top 5 Governors and one of the Public Official of the Year and someone elected by his peers to chair the NGA and also to chair the SGA would turn out to be such a bad guy.

I seriously doubt those charges. He probably didn't break any laws, and he probably didn't do anything abnormal. He says that he had it done to protect sensitive personal information.

Governor Mike Huckabee seems to be a very moral, concerned American and basically a nice guy. However, let's face the truth, he's a small town light-weight who would be destroyed by these ruthless liberals. As it is, McCain will probably win just his home state - maybe????? Huckabee would be swept!

We had our chance and didn't support the right person. Now we have four years of Jimmy Carter coming!

Latter-Day Saints will not vote for bigotry. Don't fool yourself. Would your pastor vote for the Jewish elder that judged Christ in AD 33? You are that Jewish official in the eyes of millions of Mormons. History has come full circle and I wonder if your intolerance for this modern AD-33-Jesus-type-"cult" will eventually put you on the wrong side of history. Obama 08, Romney 2012, Huckabee never.

Thank you, but to be honest --- I'll vote for the Huckster when hell freezes over and the only way to avoid the flood will be to slide through a ballot box slot.

I really am not pleased with any of the remaining presidential hopefuls.

I do not feel that honesty and integrity are anywhere near the top of their priority list.

I don't know any of these people personally but have studied about their records and proposed promises and think that their behavior once they are elected will be a big surprise. Whether I agree with their position or not I would like a president that I had confidence in. That would hit the tabloids or offend world leaders. I am really disappointed in America's choice of their best and finest. I pray and hope you do to which ever God you worship that they will seek wise people to counsel them and put their own interests in the back seat as they seek to serve those who elected them.

BINGO! Romney will be one of those people that we come to appreciate AFTER he is gone. Listening to the widespread mourning today you would think Eva Peron or JFK had been killed. Huckabee, you accomplished your insidious sabotage.

Anonymous, I've heard the electability arguments against just about Republican candidate. It's all conjecture. But to say that Huckabee would be beaten worse than Mondale is quite over the top.

"I have deep, serious, and irreconcilable concerns with Governor Huckabee which prevents me from supporting him. Good Luck."

Well, then, I can't expect you to support him.

LOL I have to like you, because that is such a clever and vivid analogy.

Alienated Mormon,

I've figured out that Mormons won't vote for just about ANYBODY ELSE when a Mormon is in the race. Look at the results in Utah. Are you going to come in and chastise me for sincerely questioning Romney's faith when your faith's followers so clearly embrace him based upon it, even though he has, in the past, been against your general political philosophies on gay rights and abortion?

Governor Huckabee has not shown that he is a bigot, and the fact that you say so boldly and confidently that he is shows indisputably that you WANT to see bigotry in him. You are PROJECTING bigotry ON him subjectively--in your mind.

This site is not bigoted. But you and people like you desire to THINK it's bigoted--and thus shrug it off--rather than facing the fact that keepers of the truth must concern themselves with the dangers of falsehood, and that you may indeed be in error.

Concerned, although I obviously disagree with you about Huckabee (and Ron Paul, too), I also want a President I can have confidence in.

Jimmy Carter:

Of course, in your eyes, Mitt Romney somehow had a "right" to the White House and Huckabee had an "obligation" to drop out. How do you figure?

"Conservatives... looking forward to stepping into the 19th century."

So does that fall under regional elitism or religious bigotry...or what?

Anonymous said...

Oh please, don't sugar coat your anti-Mormonism in "keepers of truth" clothing. I have so many reports of it rearing it's ugly head. Some of it even encouraged by Huckabee with his grass roots whisper campaigns. Makes me literally sick. Germans did similar things in the 1930's.

If an election were held in a Jewish state and ONE Christian candidate emerged in the race would you be offended if it played out similarly? Think about it.

Imagine if another candidate who had been a former rabbi egged on anti-Christian sentiment, going so far as to regularly hold conference calls with prominent rabbis in heavily Jewish regions to encourage voters to get out and support the "Godly" candidate. Imagine your horror if your Christian candidate were utterly rejected, in spite of his political superiority, solely because his faith was unnacceptable. That would be a dark day for evangelicals around the world.

Well, bigotry has won the day and a very Catholic JFK is rolling in his grave. He too was nearly derailed by the hotbead of intolerance we call the South.

As for Mormons overwhelmingly supporting Romney. He was the best candidate and they are not anti-Mormon, anti-Semitic or any other dangerously hateful "anti." Period.

Hey "Kingdom Advancer," for the sake of my LDS children in a scary world: Please stop this anti-Mormonism. Are you looking for a Holy War? Is that what you want, more blood on the hands of overzealous Christians? Jews, Catholics, LDS... Is there anyone else left for you to alienate?

I hope to God that Mike Huckabee is chosen VP, then Obama will certainly win because UT, NV, MT, ID and CO will go Democratic. Recent Western polls indicate that 80% of Mormons would vote Obama over a McCain/Huckabee ticket. Again, These heavily LDS states will NOT vote for bigotry. Huckabee could never win without these states which have always carried the GOP.

I'm voting for Obama. My faith is under attack, sir. What would Jesus do? Vote Pharisee?

Anonymous said...

Personally, I have nothing against Huck. That being said, I do have a problem with hucks army smashing Mitt on a personal level nonstop in their forums. So you will not get my vote sir.

Huck is obligated to stay in the race, if he bows out now that would only prove he was only in it to stop Mitt. Anyway, Huck can't win, and we lost Mitt because of Huck, so McCain it is.

Anyway, my reasons why I won't support Huck:
1. Ethic violations. I don't care how small they are, it shows a mans true character.
2. Supported scholarships for illegals. There are plenty of LEGAL citizens who need scholarships.
3. I always thought I was a christian, but i guess not...

As a non practicing mormon I understand the above comments and the anger about the bigotry. Clearly americans are not as opened minded as I thought, i had no idea there was so much hatred out there towards mormons. While Huck and his supporters are not the only ones doing it, it is disgraceful.

Anyway, I suggest you go clean out the huck army forums if you want any hope of getting some Mitt supporters, we are fairly observant people. And I would probably agree you've lost most of the "mormon vote".

You might get some of Mitts supporters, but most will go to McCain. Goodluck, McCain will have it sealed by Virginia!

Here we go: When all else fails, break out the Nazi comparison. Sorry, you aren't going to be able to attack me with false analogies so that I, worried that I'll be the next Hitler, will surrender my convictions.

The whole premise of your parallel story is erroneous, because it is based on your skewed sense that Mitt Romney was the "best candidate." That demonstrates beyond the shadow of a doubt your subjective bias--and lack of credibility.

Romney was only the "best" candidate--with "political superiority"--if you are willing to drink what I call the "Romney Kool-Aid."

~His miraculous conversion on abortion
~~His stance that the country is not ready to end abortion (an apathetic, conciliatory attitude and built-in copout.)
~~~His opinion that abortion can be the right choice in cases of rape and incest (showing the residue of an incomplete understanding of the essence of abortion)
~~~~His conversion on a marriage amendment.
~~~~~The way he didn't fight against activist judges in Massachusetts to protect marriage.
~~~~~~The way he has said he would fight for gay rights in an unconservative way.

~~~~~~~The way he supported the Brady Bill and an assault weapons ban, and signed an assault weapons ban in Massachusetts.
~~~~~~~~The way he said that he "supported" the strict Massachusetts laws and wouldn't try to "chip away" at them.

~~~~~~~~~Even his sketchy record on immigration. Less than two years ago, he was quoted as proposing a plan which sounds very similar to John McCain's.
If you're willing to believe everything that comes out of his mouth now--which you clearly are, perhaps because of his Mormonism--then maybe he's the best candidate. But I look at his record, and I see a liberal. Mary Matalin said about him that "You can forgive a red man governing in a blue state." Sorry, but I'm not going to vote for a political opportunist and chameleon, who claims to be a "lifelong" hunter--well, maybe he only hunted a couple of times--and who just happened to become a "lifetime member" of the NRA at the time he's thinking of running for president.
LOOK! I haven't even mentioned his Mormonism yet as making him a lesser candidate!
As I've said before, if Mitt Romney had been a real conservative, I would've been much less hesitant about voting for him. But he has not.
I don't vote just on religion. All the candidates claim to be Christians, but I wouldn't vote for Clinton or Obama, or any of the other candidates...JUST because of their professed faith. And I'm not just supporting Huckabee for his pastoral experience, either. It's that he seems genuine in his faith that's attractive, but I also see that his faith has a proper political outgrowth, and he has consistently stuck to it.
Do I want your children to be in a Holy War? Absolutely not. The only one who has mentioned violence is you, with the terms "Holy War," "blood," and the implication of Naziism.
But I do want your children to realize that there are people who care about them enough to tell them when they're wrong. I can only hope and pray that God will send someone to your children who you can't shun and tell your children that they are "evil bigots and spreaders of lies."
I don't dislike Mormons personally (except maybe Warren Jeffs). In reality, you are committing a logical fallacy (a sweeping or hasty generalization) by grouping me in with any real "Mormon haters" out there. If you'd read my posts, you'd understand that this isn't about prejudice or hatred, but about principles I believe in: salvation comes with certain benefits, benefits that would behoove the president. And I don't believe that Mormons, who aren't entirely a la carte, at least, are saved.
By the way, I know at least one Mormon who is clearly bigoted. He comments on this blog, and suggested that Huckabee won Iowa due to "inbreeding." Do you want to second that statement?
Someone's irrationality is always confirmed to me when they say they will vote for Obama. So, because you want to believe that people hate you and yours, you'll vote for the person who believes in the slaughter of children; the person who believes that marriage is nothing more than a man-devised contract which can be twisted and perverted; the person who believes that wealth is not something which God gives us as stewards through hard work and His grace, but is something ultimately owned by the government which has the right to redistribute as it wills; someone who doesn't really believe that you have a right to protect yourself with deadly force; someone who doesn't really believe in upholding the law and maintaining a sense of fairness in our immigration system; someone who is willing to lose a war and risk untold damages in the long-run; someone who attends an arguably racist church; and someone who doesn't really believe that dependence upon God has any place in the public sphere.
He goes against everything your candidate said he believed in. Yet, because you revel in the perceived bigotry against you, you'd rather punish unborn children, families, innocent civilians, and countless others all over the world, now and in the future, than vote for someone who's much nearer your principles.
That says a lot about you.
What would Jesus do?
I'm not in the business of defining who Jesus would vote for, unless it's clearly laid down in the Word. But the Bible does say to do all for the glory of God. I don't think baby-killing, marriage-devaluing, law-disregarding, wealth-redistributing, etc., is to the glory of God.
Besides, your faith is not under attack. You just don't like hearing that someone believes your beliefs are wrong. You want people to say, "It doesn't matter one way or the other."
That's the problem. It DOES matter. It matters a LOT.
Anonymous, a few things to note:
1.) I don't hate Mormons. Sure, there are some people who do, and there are those who don't speak in the most eloquent way about their inability to support a Mormon for President. But I do not hate Mormons.
2.)Personal attacks come with the territory. I'm not condoning them, but I would say that you can't make the case Romney supporters weren't doing the same thing. Right or wrong, Huckabee supporters perceived Romney's consistent attacks on Huckabee, and his blatant attempt to mislead voters: "This is a two-man race"; "A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain."
3.) I can't personally clean out the Huck's Army forums.
4.) The Huck's Army forums are not officially connected to the campaign.
5.) I'm not conceding to McCain yet.
6.) It's not about being closeminded. It's about being principled. At least for me. I can't speak for everyone .
9/11,
That comment was too ridiculous, slanderous, and untrue to allow to stand. However, I'd like to point out that your logic is humorous:
People exercising their right to vote for whom they choose
People hijacking an airplane, crashing it into a building, and killing thousands of people.
Hmmm.......
Anonymous,
I can't understand your rationale:
You won't vote for someone (Huckabee) who--right or wrong--didn't want to punish children for the sins of their parents, yet...
You will vote for someone who didn't do much against the sanctuary cities in his state; suggested a plan less than two years ago very similar to John McCain's; and flip-flopped on other key issues.
As far as ethics, I'm not an expert on that topic, but I'm pretty sure Huckabee broke no laws and didn't do anything abnormal.
Anonymous said...
Here we go. If you voted against Romney because of his politics I would salute your freedom. However, we both understand what happened this year. Don't insult us with your "liberal record" argument.
Did you support JFK? I don't supposed a Roman Catholic or Jew is "saved" in your worldview. This is perhaps the most maddening part: evangelicals would vote for them, but not for a Mormon. What an insidious double standard. Something about LDS theology makes you guys simply loathe us. You don't loathe the others.
I stand behind my Jewish analogy. That is EXACTLY what has happened, only your people played the role of the intolerant ones. It's irrelevant who is the best candidate really, Romney was viciously attacked for his unwaivering, strong faith. Of all people Christians should understand this integrity. Simply Abhorrent.
Clearly there IS a religious test in this country. We should tear Article SIX out of the Constitution. Apparantly evangelicals aren't beholden to that little rule.
Also, thanks for proving how warped your LDS view is: Warren Jeffs is NOT a Mormon! I think people outside of the West have some seriously out of touch ideas about what it means to be LDS. I have read volumes of "anti-Mormon" writings that claim we believe ridiculous things that I have never even heard of. They are always out of context and sensationalized. This slander and distortion are defining the views people like you have. If these things were 100% true I would be concerned about LDS also.
Apparently, like the Jews we need an LDS anti-defemation league to protect our children from these anti attacks.
FACT: There are now as many LDS as Jews in this country.
FACT: Only 14% of LDS live in Utah.
FACT: Mormons are here to stay. Deal with it.
FACT: As with Jews, Catholics, Muslims and Athiests, LDS are comfortable with our religious differences. Deal with it.
FACT: The US Presidency is not a clergy. This should never have been the issue to bring down Romney. Mormons will never forget this Alamo.
Another fact: I'm done wasting time on this medieval blog. I prefer to spend my time in places with thoughts that have evolved beyond the intolerant and oppressive dark ages.
Drop me a line when you decide that 14 million Americans are worthy to leave the kid's table and join the lofty ranks of the superior and singularly righteous "evangelicals." What a divisive joke, this country deserves what's coming under Obama folks.
Shocked and frusted.
"You won't vote for someone (Huckabee) who--right or wrong--didn't want to punish children for the sins of their parents, yet..."
Hasn't Huck flipped and said he's kicking everyone out in 120 days? What happened to his concern for the children?
I know everyone loves to attach that label only to mitt, but we all know every politician shifts positions.
This is really my first time here, but I don't think anyone is accusing you personally of bigotry, but when you have so many leaders condemning the mormon religion as a cult, and Huckabee throwing his innocent comments out there, what do you expect mormons to do? Huck openly courts these people, so what are mormons suppose to think?
I'm not a social conservative, so all the jabber about Mitt switching positions on those issues is mute, but I do believe they were sincere shifts. What are we as people if we cannot grow and learn and evolve?
The reason I supported Mitt was because I believed he had the credentials, insight, and leadership to lead our nation. Much the same as you support Huck probably. We just have different issues and concerns.
If Huck had the money and organization, he could maybe pick up so ground, but theres almost no way he is going to win. What did they say, 60% of the remaining delegates Mitt would need. So Huck is about the same. His chances are almost 0. Even if somehow makes a brokered convention, Mitt is not going to send his delegates to the man who prevented him from the whitehouse. ( I know you see it the other way, but difference of opinions again) =)
Anonymous,
Here are some comments left on my blog:
"What an ignorant little bigot you are!" [That was about opposing civil unions, not Mormonism.]
"F****** Christian scum."
"It's bigots like you that may prevent this nation from having one of the greatest presidents in its history."
"Oh please, don't sugar coat your anti-Mormonism in "keepers of truth" clothing. I have so many reports of it rearing it's ugly head. Some of it even encouraged by Huckabee with his grass roots whisper campaigns. Makes me literally sick. Germans did similar things in the 1930's." (Implying I am like a Nazi.)
Thankfully, you have conducted yourself in a civil manner, trying to understand my reasoning rather than practically accusing me of being evil incarnate.
If social issues weren't an issue with you, and if you believed that his conversions were sincere, then I can see why you supported Romney.
Track-records play a huge role in politics. It's a politicians reputation. I couldn't just accept his miraculous, Damascus-road conversions on my three most fundamental issues, especially when they apparently had nothing to do with a biblical discovery or a return to God or something like that.
Do I think Huckabee's chances at winning the nomination are favorable? No. Do I think his chances are "0"? No.
As for illegal immigration:
He now thinks that illegal immigrants should go home and get at the back of the line like everybody else. While he was governor, he figured that, as long as illegal immigrants children are here, and growing up in our school system, with us having no imminent intention to send them home, they should not be punished from having equal access to scholarships. They should be rewarded for superior performance.
I'm not sure that I agree with his reasoning there, but I can understand it.
And I don't think that is a complete immigration policy flip-flop. Unlike Mitt Romney, who proposed a similar plan to McCain's or Giulani's, and did little against sanctuary cities in his state. But it's not so much that Romney shifted his positions on that issue. It's that he then consistently attacked Huckabee's position on scholarship. You can't have it both ways. You can't say, "I know my record is bad, but let's talk about HIS record."
Kingdom Advancer said...
Faith Under Attack (or whoever you are. :)),
If you so relish living in a victim mentality, I'm not going to be able to talk you out of it. But the truth is, Romney's political expediency crossed with his Mormonism--combined with his non-fully conservative positions--created a tonic which I could not swallow.
Did I support JFK? Well, he was a bit before my political time, but I imagine that I would've disagreed with JFK politically, as I did with Romney.
As for Catholics:
You've grouped Catholics in a lot in your comments. Let me tell you something: most of my extended family is Catholic, and some of my friends are Catholic. I love them dearly, and they are nice people. But I wouldn't be a good Christian to "wish" or "assume" they are saved. I care too much about them to be so shallow and narcissistic.
Do I think a Catholic can be saved? Yes, I do. However, I think it's very hard for them to believe the truth when their church teaches so many lies.
Do I think a Jew can be saved? Only like everyone else: by coming to Jesus, as Savior and LORD, by grace through faith. That's not MY worldview. That's the BIBLE'S view.
Acts 4:12-- "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
Ephesians 2:8-9-- "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
John 3:16-- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Romans 10:9--"...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved..."
I could go on and on. If you don't believe this, you obviously don't believe the Bible.
You are way too presumptuous to say that I would blindly support a Non-messianic Jew. I most certainly would not support an unbelieving Jew equally to a genuine believer. However, there is one difference: a Jewish President would probably not push Judeaism into the mainstream or popularize it any more than it already is. A Mormon President would help spread his faith's false doctrine.
By the way, I would not be "shocked" and "terrified" if Jews took a Christian's faith into account before voting (or not voting) for him. I'd respect them for thinking so seriously about religious things and how they affect every part of life. I wouldn't appreciate those spreading anti-Christian lies, but I don't think I'm doing that with Mormonism, and I can't speak for anyone who does/has.
Is there a religious test in this country? Maybe you should read my article "Article VI of the Constitution," which can be found in the sidebar. You are TOTALLY, COMPLETELY misinterpreting the Sixth Amendment. That's another reason I couldn't vote for Romney. He brutally demolished the meaning of that amendment so that he could use it as a political tool for himself.
Thanks for proving my point, too. You're so constitutional, you'd just like to restrict free speech. Who gets to define what should be banned?
I was not implying that Warren Jeffs is a good Mormon or even a practicing Mormon. But he does claim to be a Mormon, and I was simply pointing out that I do dislike him.
You're argument that anti-Mormons claim crazy things is not a caseproof. If I say, "Anti-atheism is crazy because some anti-atheists say we use silverware and therefore atheism is wrong," that doesn't mean ALL arguments against atheism are invalid or illogical.
Kingdom Advancer said...
You further show your irrationality:
"...this country deserves what's coming under Obama folks."
So...
Let the babies be killed because you want to pout. Let marriage be destroyed because you want to pout. Let the terrorists come because you want to pout. Let government become the god and arbiter of wealth because you want to pout.
Even if SOME people were as bad as you say, how bad are you for taking such a position?
Again...says a lot about you.
